Each
March SETC hosts combined Professional Auditions
for approximately 90 professional hiring theatres
as part of the annual convention. SETC requires
that all pre-professional actors (students1 and
adults) be screened on the state level before
being accepted to the auditions in March.
Actors currently enrolled in school2 ,
whether or not they have earned a salary acting, must
attend the state screening auditions in the state assigned for the school where they attend. Auditionees
must register for the state screenings and must apply
online for the SETC Auditions.
Each state in SETC's 10 State Region holds preliminary auditions in the Fall in order to send the most qualified actors to participate in the regional auditions at the annual convention in the spring.
1 High School students are not eligible to participate in state screenings. Please contact April Marshall for any questions regarding this policy.
2 Graduate students in their final semester of an MFA Theatre Performance program may be eligible to apply directly to SETC, provided they meet professional requirements, and should contact the SETC office well in advance of State Application deadlines.
