Call for 2012 SETC Convention Programs
Concurrent Sessions
Deadline for Submissions: September 30, 2011

The Southeastern Theatre Conference is now accepting program proposals. If you have an idea for a workshop and are interested in taking part in SETC's 63rd Annual Spring Convention, March 7-11, 2012, Log into the SETC Registration System, select the event "2012 Program Proposal" and follow the instructions.

We strive to achieve a balance of programming for all attendees.

We coordinate scheduling of each program, careful to avoid conflicts. The more information you can give us regarding your content, room set-up and expected attendance, the less chance you'll be competing for the same target audience. Programs will be scheduled from 4 PM Wednesday, March 7th through 5 PM Saturday, March 10th.

We seek proposals that:
  • Contain leading-edge information / theory / innovative practices
  • Emphasize training, learning and performance
  • Are "how to" and hands-on
  • Focus on skill-building
  • Provide professional development
  • Provide information not easily accessible to your target audience
  • Offer strategies for growing educational and non-profit organizations
  • Offer strategies for using teaching, business and design technologies
Who is your target audience?
Since the convention offers events and programming for all ages from High School students to Professionals who have been in the business for a long time, it is advisable to know and define your Target Audience(s) on your proposal.

Review and Notification Process

If you do not receive electronic notification that your proposal has been received, please call the Central Office. After the proposal review process is complete, e-mail notifications will be sent to those who submitted accepted proposals no later than November 13, 2011. E-mail notifications for the declined proposals will be sent no later than November 22, 2011.

Guidelines for Selecting Proposals

SETC will not select proposals which are attempting to promote a product or issue. Graduate and advanced students may assist a presenter as participants on panels and in workshops when appropriate, but program submissions from students will not be considered.

Registration

SETC does not provide honoraria for presenters at the convention; SETC is a membership organization and all workshop presenters are required to be members of the organization. All presenters, presiders and program participants are responsible for their convention registration fees, travel and lodging expenses.
