What is the importance of Acting and Directing in SETC?

The acting/directing committee is committed to providing members with a wealth of opportunities to network and share ideas. Workshops, festivals, meetings and performances during the annual convention offer professionals, educators and students a sense of common ground. Contacts are made and friendships are formed. Additional suggestions are offered each spring at our annual meeting and we work to implement the positive suggestions to benefit our members.

Who is involved in Acting and Directing?

Any member of SETC who wishes to be involved may be. The acting/directing committee welcomes and encourages cross-referenced programming, especially with the voice and speech and stage movement committees. We want to provide great experiences for the members who attend the workshops at the festival and continue to explore ways to help the members the rest of the year.

Program emphasis at the Annual Spring Convention:

Much of our programming deals with techniques for teaching acting and training for actors – everything from warm-ups to audition technique to period styles to acting for television and film.
