Alabama State University
Alley Theatre
The Alley Theatre is a Tony Award-winning indoor theatre in Downtown Houston, Texas, and hosts two stages. The "Hubbard" is the main stage with seating for 824; the more intimate "Neuhaus" seats 310. The Alley theatre company was founded in 1947.
Arundel Barn Playhouse
The Arundel Barn Playhouse will present Summer Season 2009 in the tourist area of Kennebunkport, Maine. The Playhouse is located in beautiful southern New England with ocean beaches, golf, hiking, canoeing, restaurants and other summer amenities. It is 1-1/4 hrs from Boston and 30 min from Protland, Maine and Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Summer climate is generally in the 80's with low humidity. Our facilities includes a proscenium stage with the audience area seating (216) contained in a farm barn built in the 1800's. There one farmhouse residence attached to the playhouse and, one block down the road, the Annex, which includes a second residence, costume shop, rehearsal space and costume and prop storage. Scene shop and offices are next to theatre. All shops are moderately equipped. In Summer Season 2009, we will present 12 weeks of live theatre (June 9 to August 29) in a climate of artistic collaboration with seasoned and a few aspiring professionals: "Suds (The Musical)", "Grease" or "Godspell", "The Mikado", "Altar Boyz", and "Almost, Maine". All 5 directors are hired via NYC and SSDC.
B Street Theatre
Since opening in 1991 we’ve become known for quality performances that keep audiences talking. Innovative new plays. Emerging playwrights. An intimate theatre experience unlike any other. Since bursting into the Sacramento scene, B Street Theatre continues to keep critics raving and audiences coming back for contemporary productions ranging from popular classics to first time debuts. Our two-theatre playhouse on B Street in Midtown is home to our Mainstage, B3 and Family Series, each created to house quality theatre for audiences year-round. Recognized as one of Northern California’s top professional theatres, we’ve produced more than 100 new plays, 60 of which are world, national, West Coast, or regional premieres. The mission of B Street Theatre is to promote education and literacy, social interaction, and cultural enrichment by engaging children and adults in the highest quality theatre arts and playwriting. B Street Theatre has been known for its innovative productions of new plays since its first season in 1991. Lesser-known is that the company was originally founded in 1986 for the purpose of bringing the excitement of live performance to children through a program known as Fantasy Theatre, which is now called the B Street Theatre School Tour. This educational outreach program reaches over 200,000 students in Northern California annually.
Berkshire Theatre Festival
Founded in 1928, Berkshire Theatre Festival is one of the oldest professional regional theatres in the United States and the longest-running cultural organization in the Berkshires. Now under the helm of Artistic Director and CEO Kate Maguire, BTF presents theatre that matters—world premieres, contemporary works, and classics that speak to who we are in our world today. The Main Stage (408 seats), cataloged by the National Register of Historic Places, was originally designed and built by Stanford White as the Stockbridge Casino in 1888. The mission of BTF’s second stage, the intimate Unicorn Theatre (122 seats), is to provide a home for emerging artists and new theatrical ideas. BTF’s education program, BTF PLAYS!, reaches over 10,000 children annually through school residencies, touring performances, and summer performance training and writing programs. During the summer months BTF opens its doors to over 75 administrative, acting, and technical interns and apprentices.
Bigfork Summer Playhouse
The Bigfork Summer Playhouse will celebrate its 51st Season of live professional theatre this summer (2010). Known by many as the "theatre by the bay", the playhouse brings talent from across the country to bring the finest live professional theatre in the Northwest and is a past recipient of the Montana Governor's Award for the Arts. Bigfork Summer Playhouse is a Permanent Indoor (seats 435), Repertory, Musical, Summer, Non-Equity theatre. Productions for the 2010 season include: Forbidden Broadway; Fiddler on the Roof; Dirty Rotten Scoundrels; Tom Foolery; All Shook Up; Sugar Babies.
Brevard Music Center
Brevard Music Center, located in Brevard, North Carolina, is an active and vibrant organization, preparing and presenting the Summer Institute and Festival held from mid-June to early August each summer. Over 400 students, ages 14 through post-college, come to the Music Center to study with outstanding artist faculty and visiting guest artists of national and international acclaim. For seven weeks, talented students participate in a rigorous and enriching program of instruction including private lessons, large ensemble rehearsals, chamber music, and theory. They expand their education and delight audiences with the presentation of public performances throughout the summer.
California International Theatre Festiva
The City of Calabasas has taken a dynamic leadership position as Title Sponsor of CITF Season 2010, ensuring this vibrant addition to California’s cultural scene. This unique event will allow theatre lovers of all ages to immerse themselves in a dazzling assortment of classical and contemporary productions presented in a broad range of theatrical styles from many different countries. The California International Theatre Festival Apprentice Program (Inaugural Season 2010) offers 20-30 promising students age 18 and up an exciting opportunity to expand their theatre education and training over a period of three intensive weeks. Apprentices will attend daily workshops with acclaimed faculty and special seminars with visiting artists from around the globe. This unique international training program will expose students to a series of diverse acting, movement, & vocal disciplines including commedia, clown, mask work, kabuki and innovative character creation, taught by Grotowski, Decroux, Adler, & Lecoq trained master teachers. It also will provide apprentices with hands-on experience in producing and launching an international theatre festival. Classes are taught by a dedicated international group of artist faculty that includes Master Teachers from Universities and theatres nationwide as well as international artists from the festival. In addition, apprentices will work on the many facets of mounting the touring productions by participating in crews alongside visiting artists and assisting in every step of the production, from lights and sets to rehearsal assistance and house management. The program will provide valuable hands-on experience into the inner workings of a professional theatre operation. Not only will students have the opportunity to work on and attend all festival presentations, panel discussions, and performances, but the program will culminate in a performance by the Apprentices as part of the festival. The performance will allow the apprentices a chance to utilize their new theatrical skills and participate not only as students, but also as performers in the festival.

The California Theatre Center is a company with three major programs: a resident company that performs primarily for students and families from October to May; a resident company that performs primarily for adults in the summer; and touring companies that perform regionally, nationally and internationally. Cincinnati Shakespeare Company

Colorado Shakespeare Festival
The Colorado Shakespeare Festival is a professional theatre company in residence at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Each summer the Festival hires five directors, and as many as forty actors, nine designers and more than 150 production personnel. Add to these a small administrative staff, apprentices, interns and volunteers and the CSF company includes as many as 180 individuals, most of whom arrive in Colorado in mid-May from all parts of the country (and the world). In 1992, CSF was named as one of the top Shakespeare festivals in the nation by TIME Magazine. That same year, the Festival received the Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts and the Denver Drama Critic's Circle Award for "Best Season for a Theatre Company."
Cumberland County Playhouse
The Cumberland County Playhouse is now the only major non-profit professional performing arts resource in rural Tennessee, and one of the 10 largest professional theaters in rural America. It serves more than 145,000 visitors annually with two indoor and two outdoor states, young audience productions, a comprehensive dance program, a concert series and touring shows. The Cumberland County Playhouse is the only non-profit professional performing arts organization in Tennessee that wholly owns and operates its own major performance facility. The Playhouse is committed to the arts as an indigenous, homegrown part of rural America - not a commodity imported from urban centers. The Playouse regularly produces new works based upon Tennessee and Southeastern history and culture, plus state and regional premieres and revivals of works with Appalachian themes. The Playhouse also strives to stretch its audiences with programming which includes major elements of opera, dance, and challenging dramatic works. The Playhouse features nearly 500 performances and 1600 classes in theatre, music and dance annually.
Dogwood Dell Festival of Arts
Dogwood Dell is a 2,400 seat amphitheatre owned and operated by the Richmond Virginia's Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Facilities and located in Byrd Park. Since 1956, it has been home to the Festival of Arts; a summer long celebration of the arts featuring art exhibits, concerts, dance and theatre. In addition to these events, the Festival of Arts also incorporates a children's series with performances at our Ha' Penny stage. Festival of Arts With its eclectic mix of old and new, the Festival of Arts has become one of Richmond's cultural treasures. Through our programming, the Festival of Arts strives to bring the Richmond community some of the most innovative and avant-garde performers, while also respecting the value and importance of traditional and classical works. Throughout June, July, and August, a variety of shows can be enjoyed at the "Dell" including classical music and dance; drama, comedy, and musical theatre; reggae, pop, swing, rhythm and blues, rock, jazz and contemporary music concerts. The Festival of Arts is flavored for every taste. Come early for a seat in the amphitheatre or bring a blanket to sit in the surrounding park. Although the dance concerts and programs presented at Dogwood Dell are normally purchased packaged shows for which we provide technical assistance, our three theatre productions are produced fully in-house. While many of our theatre productions are Richmond premieres, we also stage contemporary favorites. These productions continually prove to be some of Richmond's favorites and have even won awards. Ha'Penny Stage The Ha'Penny Stage behind the Carillon is a center for children's theatre and entertainment on Sunday afternoons during the Festival of Arts. Programs include music, theatre, juggling, story-telling and more. Eugene O'Neill Theater Center
Founded in 1964 by George C. White and named in honor of America's only Nobel Prize-winning playwright, The O'Neill is home to six distinct programs: the O'Neill Playwrights Conference, Music Theater Conference, Puppetry Conference, National Theater Institute, Critics Institute and the Monte Cristo Cottage, O'Neill's childhood home located in neighboring New London. At The O'Neill, writers and directors, puppeteers and singers, students and audiences alike take their first steps in exploring, revising and understanding their work and the potential of the theater they help create. The work of The O'Neill focuses on the script as it begins its journey to the stage. The actors work with minimal props and no sets or costumes, holding scripts in their hands, revealing for the first time the magic of a new play or musical, puppetry piece or cabaret act. Work first performed at The O'Neill has gone on to regional theaters, Broadway, movies and television. Students and professionals who have honed their skills at The O'Neill can be seen in these venues every day across the country. Others work behind the scenes as playwrights, directors, in stage management, publicity and a hundred other roles that the public never sees but are nonetheless essential to every production.
Flat Rock Playhouse
The barn-like appearance of the main stage facility is reminiscent of our summer stock beginnings, but today it houses state of the art lighting and sound systems, electronic stages, costume studio/storage, and dressing room space for 40. The Auditorium seats 506 patrons in air-conditioned comfort. Adjoining the main stage is the scenic studio (75”X 40”) fully equipped for scenic construction, welding, painting, properties craft storage and construction.
Florida Repertory Theatre
Florida Rep is located in the heart of the Fort Myers River District, and is part of a relatively young community that is growing and developing rapidly. Just between Naples and Sarasota, Fort Myers is the gateway to Sanibel and Captiva Islands, and the theatre sits on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River within walking distance of the marina, and a plethora of affordable restaurants. Florida Rep is a not-for-profit theatre group headed by Producing Artistic Director Robert Cacioppo. Although formed in 1998, the ensemble-based company is a continuation of the troupe that Cacioppo developed over a twenty-year period on Sanibel and Captiva, chiefly at the Pirate Playhouse. Florida Rep is a fully professional Equity company on contract with the Actors' (AEA), Directors' (SSDC) and Designers' (USA) unions, and comprised of professional actors, stage managers, directors, designers and technicians. Hangar Theatre
The Hangar Theatre is located in Ithaca, NY, in the heart of the Finger Lakes region. The Hangar Theatre is a nationally-recognized professional theatre. Located in beautiful Ithaca, New York, the Hangar is home to the Lab Company, an intensive summer theatre training program for young professionals in acting, directing, design, and playwriting. Lab Company artists are selected via a competitive national search. The Lab Company runs during the Hangar's summer season, June to August; the season encompasses nearly twenty productions on our Mainstage, KIDDSTUFF, and Wedge stages. Twenty-four actors, four designers, three assistant directors, and six playwrights will be invited to participate in the 2010 Lab Company. In addition, three directors will be selected by the Drama League Directors Project to serve as the artistic leadership of the Lab Company. Lab Company artists attend master classes taught by professional guest artists. Each Lab Company artist is cast in, assistant directs, or designs a new production every two weeks, totaling at least three different productions during his or her training residency at the Hangar Theatre. Horn in the West (Southern Appalachian Historical Society)
Horn in the West drama is located in the heart of Boone, North Carolina in one of the most beautiful outdoor theatres in the country. This adventure, from our nation's heritage, has offered thrilling outdoor entertainment to generations of Americans since it premiered in 1952. We are the third oldest outdoor drama. Illinois Shakespeare Festival
The Illinois Shakespeare Festival exemplifies a long-established tradition of professional theatre devoted to performing the plays of William Shakespeare. Every summer, a collection of theatre professionals and interns unite in Bloomington-Normal, IL, to create a dynamic environment, one dedicated not only to education but also the enthusiastic creation of performing art. In 1978, the Festival was founded as a partnership between the Illinois State University School of Theatre and the College of Fine Arts; that partnership continues today. The School of Theatre provides budget support, personnel, and facilities; the College of Fine Arts provides budget support, specifically for administrative salaries, as well as facility support. The Festival's impact on the theatre world has been recognized in media and scholarly journals from Bloomington to Chicago, New York, and back in Shakespeare's home country, England.
Interlochen Center for the Arts
Summer theatre camps at Interlochen offer students the opportunity to study with some of the top artists and educators in the field, from all over the United States. Theatre programs are available for students who will complete grades 3-12 during the 2009-10 academic year, and include musical theatre, design and technology, repertory theatre, acting, and more.
Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival
Jacob's Pillow's mission is to support dance creation, presentation, education, and preservation; and to engage and deepen public appreciation and support for dance. Nashville Ballet
Nashville Ballet is Middle Tennessee's second largest performing arts organization and an accomplished ensemble in demand both locally and internationally. Papermill Theatre
The Mainstage company produces Broadway musicals. These productions have developed a reputation for high level of artistic performances in respect to acting, sets and costumes. The Children's Theatre company, during an eight week summer season, travels to seven communities in NH, performing adaptations of well-loved fairy tales. These performances are presented in partnership with other arts organizations that host the shows in their local communities. Our summer company, spearheaded by Artistic Director, Kate Arecchi, consists of 40-60 actors, technicians and administrative staff who join us from across the country. The Penguin Ski Lodge, once home to the Lincoln Opera House, serves as the main residence for most of our staff, complete with dining room and a gymnasium that serves as our rehearsal space. The residence is within walking distance of downtown Lincoln and the Papermill Theatre.

Triad Stage
Triad Stage began as the dream of creating a professional not-for-profit regional theatre to serve the communities of the Triad. Co-founders Preston Lane and Richard Whittington forged their artistic partnership as graduate students at the Yale School of Drama. After managing a theater in Connecticut for two years, they undertook the three-year task of opening their own theater in the heart of historic Greensboro. Triad Stage converted a former Montgomery Ward department store building which now houses the Pyrle Theater, complete with a 300-seat theater and thrust stage and rehearsal hall.
