Membership Opportunities

Discount Tickets at Member Theatres

SETC member theatres often provide discounts to their shows for SETC members. Members may contact the Central Office to inquire if discount tickets are available at any SETC theatre at least one week prior to the performance in question in order to provide accurate information and details on how to obtain the discount. Annual Convention*

Over 400 workshops, demonstrations and panels, five theatre festivals, design competitions, exhibits, auditions, job contact service, new play presentations, distinguished speakers, business meetings, awards banquet and networking opportunities.

Theatre Jobs*

Connects employers to employees seeking production or administrative or educational jobs in theatre.  Theatre Job Fair takes place during the Annual Convention where theatre companies interview on site.  The Theatre Job Board is a year-round service where Employers can post jobs and search the list for prospective employees.  Job Seekers can register to view job listing, upload resumes, cover letters, and other details to assist employers in findiing them.

Spring Professional Auditions*

Over 800 actors seeking summer and/or year round employment audition for 80+ companies. Pre-professional actors qualify at one of the Southeast’s ten state screening auditions. Professionals apply directly.

Fall Professional Auditions*

Over 200 professional actors audition for 30+ companies.  Held annually the Sunday and Monday following Labor Day.

Undergraduate Auditions*

Over 80 college, university and theatre training school representatives audition and interview acting and technical candidates at the Annual Convention.

Graduate Auditions*

LiNK: SETC & USITT have joined forces to provide a new way for graduate schools and applicants to connect!

Spring Graduate Auditions & Design/Tech Portfolio Reviews and Interviews: Over 30 theatre school representatives seek students for their Graduate Programs at SETC’s Annual Convention in March. You can audition, interview or present your design/tech portfolio in one location.

Festivals

Members have access to over 50 performances among 5 theatre festivals during the Spring Annual Convetntion.  The types of festivals include; Community Theatre, Fringe Festiva,  High School Theatre, Ten Minute Play and Theatre for Youth. Committees

Function year-round to inform members and help with convention program planning.

Education Expo

College, university and drama school representatives interview potential students for undergraduate and graduate theatre programs and scholarships in a college fair atmosphere during the Annual Convention.

Commercial Exhibits

The latest in technology and theatrical products on display from theatre suppliers, vendors and publishing houses during the Annual Convention.

Publications*

Southeastern Theatre Conference offers an in-depth magazine and newsletter as a benefit of membership, as well as an annual  scholarly publication.

Awards and Scholarships

The Southeastern Theatre Conference is proud to offer scholarships and awards for individuals continuing their study in Theatre, artistic and/or academic achievers and Design Competition winners. SETC’s Endowment Fund supports each award and annually grants over $20,000 worth of awards.
