SETC’s
Advocacy Resources
How many
times have you wished for quantitative data to support
your stories showing the value of theatre to our culture?
|
 |
or
|
How often wanted a number
at your fingertips that proves the economic impact
of the arts?
|
SETC's
Advocacy List features a list of resources that will connect
you to just such data and statistics, supporting the value
of the arts in many areas, from their impact on the economy
to their influence on education and quality of life.
Our
idea is not to re-invent what others already have created.
Rather, we want to provide a quick way you can find information
sources, whether you are a theatre company seeking a grant,
a theatre department justifying your contribution to an
academic institution or a teacher defending the importance
of the arts to a child’s education.

We
welcome additions to this list. If you know of a research
study or statistics that might be helpful to others in theatre
please send your information to the Central
Office at setc@setc.org.
For each study or resource you submit, please follow the
format of the listings in the column above and provide:
•
Name of the organization that sponsored the research
• Short summary that identifies the study or research
and the findings of the study
• Information on how and where SETC members can gain
access to the information, whether it is a link, email or
postal address or phone number.
Sharing
our stories and hard quantitative data helps us all be stronger
advocates for our own art, organizations and missions.
