Looking for the perfect school to get your advanced theatre degree? Theatre school representatives seek students for their graduate theatre programs at SETC’s Annual Convention. Prospective students can audition or interview and display design/tech portfolios for all participating recruiting schools in one convenient location.

SETC Graduate Auditions/Interviews Are Ideal If You:

Graduate Candidate Application Deadlines and Fees:
- Early-Bird ($20): Oct. 15 – Dec. 14
- Final ($30): Dec. 15 – Jan. 22
Pre-registration is required for participation in SETC Auditions and Design/Tech Interviews. Late applications may be considered after the online registration deadline. Late application fee: $45.

Colleges, universities and training programs wishing to participate in the SETC Graduate Auditions and/or Design/Tech Interviews to recruit graduate candidates must submit materials to SETC no later than Jan. 22, 2019.

I am interested in recruiting at SETC, what do I need to know?
We offer undergraduate and graduate recruitment through auditions and design/tech interviews at our spring convention. SETC Recruitment is open to any training program that offers a training certificate. We also have a large Education Expo in the Exhibit Hall. We encourage all recruiting institutions to have a booth, in addition to attending auditions and interviews, because students will attend the Ed Expo to visit representatives from schools they are interested in or want more information about. Booth assignments are made in the order in which registrations are received – so the sooner you register, the better your booth location! Act now, because the Ed Expo fills up quickly and registration is open!
What will the graduate audition/interview process look like for recruiting institutions?
Audition & Interview Application Packets will be provided to you electronically. Hard-copy application packets are available for $25 each. If your school pre-purchases a hard-copy packet, those will be available when you check in at the auditions or interviews.
Check-in is 8:00 AM to 8:30 AM on Friday at the graduate auditions location. The briefing for the Recruiting Institution Reps is at 8:30 AM. The Auditions will begin at 9:00 AM.
If you are staying in specific hotels (will be announced via email once we know) you may hold callbacks for Graduate Auditions in your sleeping room/suite. You may also hold callbacks at your booth in the Education Expo, if your callbacks are not the audition variety. We do have a few callback rooms available, but space and time is very limited. You will be hearing from Cadie in the SETC Office about your callback needs after you register.
Graduate Design/Tech Interviews
Check-in is 12:30 PM. Student displays should up by 12:30 PM and you will be welcome to view the displays. Students will be asked to leave between 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM. At 1:00 PM the students will give their short presentations and return to their displays for interviews. Please keep in mind that you can set up interviews with students outside of this time.

How much does it cost for a recruiting institution to attend convention?
- Organizational Membership: $80
- Expo Table: $260
- Undergraduate Auditions/Interviews: $25

- Hard-Copy Applications/Resumes: $25 each

- Each recruiting institution representative will need to register and pay as an individual

How do I pay for registration?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, and checks for all registrations. If you need an invoice, email Cadie Burks your specific needs, and she will help you.
I emailed my registration form to Cadie Burks, what now?
Cadie will process your registration and send you a sales receipt to the email address provided on the form. You will also receive your Ed Expo booth number and exhibitor kit from Hollins Exposition Services in December. Review this kit and let Hollins know of any additional booth needs.
