Convention FAQs

I am interested in recruiting at the SETC Convention. What do I need to know?

We offer undergraduate and graduate recruitment through auditions and design/tech interviews at our annual SETC Convention. SETC Recruitment is open to any educational program that offers a training certificate. We also have a large Education Expo in the Exhibit Hall. We encourage all recruiting institutions to have a booth, in addition to attending auditions and interviews, because students will attend the Ed Expo to visit representatives from schools they are interested in or want more information about. Booth assignments are made in the order in which registrations are received – so the sooner you register, the better your booth location!

What will the Undergraduate Audition/Interview process be like for recruiting institutions at SETC?

Audition/Interview Packets
Recruiters will receive a PDF packet via email which you can print prior to your arrival. Hardcopy Audition/Interview Packets are no longer available for pre-purchase, however a very limited quantity will be available for purchase on site.

Undergraduate Auditions
You may check in from 7:30 to 8 a.m. on Thursday at the undergraduate auditions location. The briefing for the Recruiting Institution Reps is at 8 a.m. The auditions will begin at 8:30 a.m.**

Undergraduate Design/Tech Displays & Interviews
Design/Tech applicants will set up their displays between 10 a.m. and noon on Thursday. Displays will be available for viewing to school reps throughout convention. Reps are encouraged to leave business cards or sign up on the sheet on the display tables to let students know they are interested. Students will be present at their display tables on Friday from 10 a.m. to noon and will be aware that they should also follow-up with reps in the Ed Expo.**

Callbacks
Callbacks should take place at your booth in the Education Expo or the Interview Lounge near the Education Expo. There will be a few café tables for schools without a booth in the Interview Lounge. Students will be encouraged to visit as many schools as possible during Exhibit Hall hours. Please keep in mind that some students involved in the Secondary School Theatre Festival may not come to your booth until Saturday.**

**Please note that these details are subject to change. Final scheduling information will be provided to registered recruiters prior to the SETC Convention.
