Design/Tech Competition

Each year, SETC invites graduate and undergraduate students to submit their designs, both realized and theoretical, to the SETC Design Tech Competition. Distinguished professionals from across the industry will provide valuable feedback on student work, and some entries will receive a verbal response at Convention. This opportunity to hear a new perspective on their design work can be an incredible step in any design students' journey! Application will become available once you complete registration, and the Design Competition application closes on January 26, 2026.

• Costume Design

• Lighting Design

• Sound Design

• Projections Design

• Makeup Design

• Costume Crafts

• Costume Technology

• Props Design and Construction

• Technical Direction

• the BGA Green Award for sustainability in production.

Please note that you must have registered for Convention prior to December 15th, 2025, to be eligible to apply for the Design Competition. Application must be received by January 25, 2026. Late entries may be allowed if space permits, but may be declared ineligible for awards.
