Volunteer Team
Do you enjoy meeting new people and providing exceptional customer service? SETC is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our Volunteer Team for the upcoming 2026 Convention.
Volunteer Requirements
To be considered, applicants must:
- Attend a mandatory 60-minute virtual orientation/training session.
- Commit to a minimum of nine (9) hours of volunteer service during the convention.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Hold current SETC membership at the time of the convention.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are:

- Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Effective problem-solvers who can lead confidently and follow directions as needed.
Convention Dates & Volunteer Shifts
Volunteers are expected to contribute 9–10 hours, scheduled in 2- to 3-hour shifts throughout the convention, including load-in and load-out.

Dream Team
Are you organized, resourceful, and thrive in fast-paced environments? Do you feel confident leading a team of volunteers, assisting with logistical challenges, and helping to maintain order during high-traffic moments? SETC is currently seeking enthusiastic and dependable individuals to join our Dream Team (Operations Team) for the 2026 Convention.
This position is best suited for individuals with strong leadership skills and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. Dream Team members play a critical role in the success of the convention by managing volunteers in designated areas, assisting the Central Office Team, resolving on-site issues, and supporting the behind-the-scenes logistics that keep everything running smoothly—from coordinating registration to troubleshooting equipment malfunctions. All team members will report directly to the Operations and Communications Coordinator, Rachel Zwerver.
Eight candidates will be chosen for this year's Dream Team. We will select our Dream Team this year through an interview process. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom.
Dream Team Requirements

- Detail-oriented, proactive, and reliable
- Skilled at solving problems under pressure
- Comfortable taking direction and working both independently and in teams. Particularly comfortable with leading a team to accomplish a specific goal
- Familiar with long working days of up to 12 hours with or without accommodations
Convention Dates & Shift Expectations
Dream Team members are expected to serve 9–10 hours per day, including during event load-in and load-out. Dream Teamers will receive periodic, flexible breaks.
Operations Team – Leadership Role
This position is best suited for individuals with strong leadership skills and the ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure environments. Team leads play a critical role in ensuring the convention runs smoothly by supporting volunteers, resolving issues, and maintaining a positive experience for all attendees.
The ideal candidate will be confident and capable in the following areas:
- Event set-up and strike support
- Troubleshooting on-site issues quickly and effectively including technical or logistical needs across venues
- Managing volunteers and responding appropriately to incidents
- Maintaining composure and professionalism in high-stress situations
- Providing clear, courteous responses to attendees and staff
- Performing light maintenance and logistical support tasks
- Collaborating with other members of the Operations Team
- Accurately documenting incidents and reporting concerns to supervisors
- Assisting Central Office Staff members
- Lifting/Moving up to 50lbs (Unless a need for Accommodation)
