The Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) hosts some of the largest and most respected unified audition and hiring events in the country—connecting performers, designers, technicians, front of house, and stage managers with professional theatre companies, cruise lines, theme parks, and educational institutions. SETC opportunities are available through the Fall Professional Auditions, Summer Outdoor Theatre Auditions, and the flagship Spring Professional Auditions.

Spring Professional Auditions

In-person | Screening required

Held each March, these auditions are for college students and professionals looking for summer and year-round work. A screening audition is required in November to qualify.

College Program Auditions

In-person | No screening required

Open to high school and college students pursuing undergraduate or graduate theatre programs. This is your chance to audition directly for colleges and universities.

Summer and Outdoor Theatre Auditions (SOTA)

In-person | No screening required

These auditions are open to college students and professionals seeking summer-only work at outdoor theatres. No pre-screening is needed.

Fall Professional Auditions

In-person | Screening required

These auditions are for non-college students (including grad students) and working professionals seeking year-round employment. Screening opens in July and is required to be considered.

Design, Tech, and Production

Spring Professional Job Fair

In-person | No screening required

Tech and design professionals can apply for jobs in summer and year-round positions through the Job Fair at the annual convention. From stage management and carpentry to lighting, audio, and costumes, production roles are in demand. Just be sure to register for the Job Fair for this March in-person event.

College Program Design, Tech, and Production Candidates

In-person | No screening required

High school and college students interested in college-level design, tech, or production programs can meet and interview with a wide range of undergraduate and graduate schools through the Spring Undergraduate & Graduate Tech Interviews. No screening is required—just register and bring your portfolio and passion.

Summer and Outdoor Theatre Auditions (SOTA) – Design, Tech, and Production Applicants

In-person | No screening required

Looking for summer work in tech, design, or production? SOTA connects college students and professionals with outdoor theatres hiring for the summer season. Opportunities include scenic, lighting, costumes, sound, stage management, and more—no screening required.

Fall Professional Auditions – Design, Tech, and Production Applicants

In-person | Screening required

For working professionals and grad students in tech, design, and production, the Fall Auditions offer access to hiring theatres with year-round positions. Submit your screening application in July for a chance to connect with employers looking for skilled backstage talent.
