Assistant Professor, Theatre

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, invites applications for a 9-month, full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Theatre commencing fall semester 2027. The position is contingent on funding.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach five (5) courses during the academic year (3:2 load). Teaching areas may include theatre history, dramaturgy, text analysis, and introduction to theatre, in addition to advanced topical seminars in literature, history, theory, and/or performance praxis.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Theatre at the time employment begins. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of publication and strong teaching, and an achievable research plan towards tenure and promotion in an R-1 environment. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills required. SALARY: 65,000- 75,000 START DATE: August 16, 2027
